Seems I am going to have to tuck my tail between my legs and face reality, the wind division of APWR is just not ramping as management had guided and promised.   The pr’s are coming out of china but the finished product and wind turbines are just in the planning stages and not making progress.  Management had predicted 20 finished wind turbines by end of 2008 and yet 2 days before 4Q08 finished, APWR management cut the quarterly by 76 million from 152 million to 76 million and the Net Income from 15 million to 5 million .  First results were 15 to 25 million, now the reality is more like 5 million.   Guidance is always tricky and has plenty of landmines in trying to predict the future (impossible in this crazy financially challenged market).    However , management should be able to figure out when and if they can get a wind turbine finished and out the door.

The GE contract for mid 2010 validates APWR for the long term but the lack of contract wins in the short term is  going to impact 1Q09 and full year 2009.  Question to ask APWR management is why not come clean and CUT the estimates for 2009 as you know you have almost zero chance of making 1 Billion + in revenues and 100 million Net Income for 2009.  Lets keep it real APWR management and explain why no pictures for  the ribbon cutting ceremony and the wind turbine plant????

Jesup and Lamont cut, Roth Capital cut……..I am just puking results given the obvious that APWR will never hit their too high expectations given the world has changed drastically since the guidance was given in late fall and early winter.

I will close by saying there is no chance of anyone giving accurate results, only rounded numbers and guesses with a mathematical statistical analysis thrown in for good measure.  The spreadsheets of last year are so out of whack, APWR management needs to come clean and reduce 2009 guidance and estimates.   APWR management must be called out and reduce 2009 guidance cause its a train wreck waiting to happen if they do NOT.   Wall street demands honesty and will not get behind this company till the transparency becomes more realistic.
