China is about to introduce new pricing for wind turbines and the European and USA manufacturers are NOT going to like this new pricing scheme. Wind component pricing has come down globally as credit crunches worldwide slash demand and force component prices to drop almost 20%. Biggest drop is in the steel pricing for wind turbine towers and components including gear boxes and blades.

New entrants in China include APWR which just bought the rights to the 1.5mw from a Chinese company. Outsourcing the components 100% from inside China is going to save drastic amounts of costs to manufacture China wind turbines along with the lower Chinese labor charges. APWR is talking $650,000 for a 1 megawatt so a 1.5 megawatt is going to be priced at 1 million vs the European pricing of 2 million to 3 million for a 1.5MW. This savings is going to crush European turbine producers (Vestas has DROPPED 16% in two days on the stock market) and APWR is going to gain market share during 2010.

From the APWR website today………..

1. July 28, 2009 am, A-Power’s CEO???, factory general manager Ruixiang???fan and fan of Shenyang Institute of Technology signed a technology transfer contract manufacturing 1.5MW fan.

2. In 2009 the first batch of 10 Typhoon aircraft will be completed by the end of the assembly, all parts of the production from China.

3.Is expected in 2010 can be mass-produced.
